Thanks to the coronavirus restrictions, council reduced the patrols as there were fewer vehicles on the road.
However, council said there were increasing incidents of people flouting the rules, so the parking enforcement team will return to their normal patrols of the parking zones in the local government area.
In the 2019/20 financial year so far, there have been 1749 parking fines issued in the local government area. They were worth more than $239,500.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The busiest months for parking fines were in July at 240 and February at 236. The fines in July alone were worth more than $33,000.
In comparison, only three fines were issued in April, worth a total of $573.
Council has warned the officers will be playing close attention to disabled zones and bus zones where there has been an increased number of motorists parking illegally.
There will be no leeway given to those found disobeying the signage.
