Many facilities are reopening their doors to the public from that day, including the NRMA Dubbo Holiday Park, which have been inundated with enquiries from tourists keen to get out and make the most of the easing rules.
NRMA Parks and Resorts CEO, Paul Davies said with the June long weekend right around the corner families are eager to hit the road as we emerge from COVID-19 restrictions.
"Our Dubbo Park Mangers Shaunie and Cameron tell me the phone has been ringing off the hook with families looking for last minute bookings," he said
"We know the Dubbo community has been doing it tough recently, so any regional tourism we can direct to the area is a win."
Mr Davies said Dubbo is a great place for families with attractions like Western Plains Zoo, the Old Dubbo Gaol and the new Royal Flying Doctors Experience all within a short drive.
"Australians love to travel but often we forget about what's in our own backyard," he added.
"I hope the silver lining to come from the international travel restrictions is that city-dwellers get to appreciate the incredible tourism experiences regional Australia has to offer."
In order to keep guests safe during the current pandemic, all NRMA Parks and Resorts, including the NRMA Dubbo Holiday Park, have implemented new cleaning procedures and will also be abiding by social distancing rules.
"Luckily all our parks offer plenty of outdoor space to ensure we can meet all safety guidelines," Mr Davies said.
