The woman was allegedly struck by a car near the back entrance to the hospital on Tuesday just after 12 noon following reports she had been struck by a car on the pedestrian footpath.
A NSW police spokesperson said the 51-year-old was trapped under the Ford Territory "for a short time" before being released by NSW Fire and Rescue.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson said the woman was treated at the scene for serious injuries to her leg and was "taken into care" at the hospital.
The 60-year-old male driver is also in hospital for minor injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.
In an unrelated incident, a trackwork rider was taken to hospital on Tuesday morning after suffering a fall.
A statement released on Racing NSW's website said trackwork rider Pat Camilleri fell during jump outs at Towac Park on Tuesday morning.
He was taken to Orange hospital for observation.
