Up to 10 people are now able to participate in outdoor activities. While it is a step in the right direction, fishers are still required to keep 1.5 metres from others.
Victorian recreational fishing peak body VRFish welcomed the announcement and said on Facebook "we ask all fishers to be safe, cautious and vigilant when wetting a line".
Victorian minister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford has confirmed that the activity of boating is also allowed under the new phase of restrictions.
According to VRFish, piers, jetties and boat ramps will also be re-opened in line with the easing of restrictions and says there is no restrictions on travel but overnight stays and camping in national and regional parks is not permitted.
Fishing competitions are still not permitted under the new restrictions.

The fish was initially tagged and stocked into Bedford Weir at Blackwater on the Mackenzie River in 2014, measuring 170mm.
The tagged Barramundi was at liberty for 2008 days, growing 980mm before being recaptured in the Proserpine River at 1150mm.
Suntag said it's only the second barramundi in more than 30 years to have travelled more than 1000km.
