The day is a nation-wide event that celebrates the anniversary of the first dinosaur fossil found in Australia way back in 1903.

On May 7, 1903, William Ferguson found a partial claw of a therapod dinosaur at Cape Patterson on the coast of Victoria.
To celebrate the day, an online event for preschool groups and pre-schoolers learning from home featuring Dominic the Dinosaur will be hosted by the Bathurst based museum.
It will be broadcast via social media at 10am.
Throughout the day dinosaur activities, information sheets, fun facts and other activities will be posted on social media at www.facebook.com/somerville.afmm and on the website museumsbathurst.com.au.
