The alleged incidents occurred on Friday when at 10.53pm police officers attempted to stop a green Toyota Camry on High Street for mobile testing.
"The vehicle has failed to stop and has accelerated harshly away from police," Traffic and Highway Patrol officers said.
"A pursuit has commenced with the offending vehicle reaching speeds of up to 100km/h in a sign posted 50km/h residential area.
"Shortly after commencing the pursuit, police have self-terminated due to the manner of driving and the sudden down pour or heavy rain."
Police then conducted a patrol of the surrounding area and located the vehicle stationary at a nearby intersection.
"Police have had excellent vision of the driver and have been able to positively identify the driver, a local 32-year-old male," officers said.
"The driver has again accelerated away from police.
"Due to the weather conditions and the extremely dangerous manner of driving, police have not re-engaged the pursuit."
The male driver has subsequently charged the male with fail to stop for breath testing, police pursuit, exceed speed over 45km/h and drive in a manner dangerous.
