The Member for Dubbo, Mr. Saunders, has produced a "pat on the back" glossy booklet which was deposited in post offices boxes at the Dubbo Post Office recently.
Quite a few residents, clearing their post office boxes, certainly demonstrated their view of the booklet, discarding it onto the ground immediately outside their box and around the garbage bin.
Many projects mentioned in the booklet, I would suggest, were already in the pipeline before Mr. Saunders became the local Member.
I know that the "sports hub/precinct" was.
Mr. Saunders states that in November 2019 he announced $10 million additional funding for the sports hub. Did not the Deputy Premier Mr. Barilaro make the announcement during his visit in November?
It would not have been cheap to produce this glossy booklet. The booklet does note that "parliamentary entitlements" funded the expenditure.
We the taxpayers pay those parliamentary entitlements, the salary and all the trappings that go with the job of the Local Member.
To top it all off the booklet was printed at Tatton. The job was not even given to a printing firm in the electorate. Is that supporting people in your electorate Mr. Saunders?
Your constituents are suffering and you want to celebrate your 12 months as the Member? Is this the right thing to do at a time like this?
