Over the last month or so we have seen how compliant the public can be in a necessary cause. I would encourage you to take as little water as possible from your natural reserves and become an example for the rest of our towns to follow.
We live on the driest occupied continent on earth.
Until now we have abused both our surface and underground water resources perhaps because of ignorance. However, with the present tendency towards a drier climate we must act now to secure water for our towns and cities through much wiser actions.
You are in a position to set standards for us all.Well done and good luck! May Dubbo never have to truck in water!
PS Are you collecting stormwater for use on your public spaces rather than using groundwater?
