Thanks to the NSW Government's Buy Regional initiative, online shoppers can help support regional businesses during this health crisis.
Not only is it a great way to give back to communities doing it tough but has come at the perfect time with Mother's Day right around the corner.
Buy Regional features more than 440 businesses with thousands of present ideas for mum.
One of the businesses featured on the website is Dubbo's own Kate Griffiths who owns and operates Lazy Sunday Lifestyle.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, Ms Griffiths had to close the store for almost four weeks, but has since reopened to three-and-a-half days.
The Dubbo businesswoman has been through a tough couple of years since opening the shop three years ago, first with the drought and now COVID-19.
"While the drought never physically shut our doors this is a whole new experience," she said.
She said the Buy Regional initiative would help support her business during this time.
"We really want everyone to reopen and go back to normal after this ends," Ms Griffiths said. "Even if it is just a $10 soap it all makes a difference. You don't have to spend a lot but every little bit helps."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Last week the federal government announced an easing of restrictions in NSW.
The new restrictions will allow two adults, and accompanying children if required, to visit another person in their home.
But Ms Griffiths is well aware that for many, the opportunity to spend time with your mum on Mother's Day will not be available to everyone.
She encouraged people to get involved with free local drop-offs, or by posting it directly to her.
"There's lots of different ways to say thank you even if you're not going to see her on the day," Ms Griffiths said.
