A MAN who allegedly assaulted police and also threatened them with a syringe and a children's scooter has faced Dubbo Local Court.

At 7pm on Sunday, April 26, officers attached to Barrier Police District attended a home on Piper Street in Broken Hill to speak to the occupant regarding an outstanding warrant.
A person ran out the back door of the home and jumped over fences and then ran through neighbouring properties.
Police pursued the man and on informing him of his arrest, he produced a syringe and allegedly threatened officers.
OC spray was deployed; however, the man again ran off, pursued by officers.
A taser was then used in an attempt to subdue the man, who picked up a children's scooter and swung it at officers.
The man dropped the syringe and with the assistance of additional police, the 41-year-old was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
He was charged with use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, two counts of assault officer in execution of duty and resist officer in execution of duty.
The outstanding warrant was executed, and he was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to a domestic violence related incident on March 10.
The man appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Monday and was formally refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court in June.
