FIVE people are continuing to receive medical treatment for coronavirus symptoms in Western NSW, new data shows.

The daily update provided by the Western NSW Local Health District (LHD) shows those people are from the Mid-Western local government area (2), Bathurst (1), Dubbo (1) and Orange (1).
The number of overall COVID-19 cases in the health district has remained relatively stable for more than two weeks with 45 people testing positive.

There are a number of LGAs in the region that continue to have no confirmed COVID-19 cases, these include: Cowra, Forbes, Bogan and Oberon.
Meanwhile, across Australia 6647 people have caught the virus with more than 4200 now recovered.
There have been 74 deaths from the virus nationwide, this includes: 33 in NSW, 15 in Victoria, four in Queensland, seven in Western Australia, eight in Tasmania, three in the ACT, four in South Australia.
Of those deaths, 21 were passengers on the Ruby Princess cruise.

A Western NSW LHD spokeswoman said it was critical that communities in the region continue to practice social distancing to minimise the risk of the transmission of COVID-19.
"This is important for everyone, but particularly for older people and people with health conditions that make them more vulnerable," she said.
"It's also important that we protect our health care workers who we need to stay well to provide care to people who become sick with COVID-19."

Tips from the health district
- Clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based rub
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms
- Stay home if you are sick
- Keep your distance from others as much as possible through social distancing.
