Dubbo Cycle club spokesman Gary Barber said he's definitely noticed an increase.
"There's been a lot of people out and about on bikes. With most people being housebound due to COVID-19 it's a good way for people get out, get the kids outside, enjoy some vitamin D, exercise and stay healthy and fit," Mr Barber said.
"It's as good as anything for the brain, just as long as people play it safe. It's important for people to ask about getting out there on the road, check the rules at Cycling Australia or contact us first."
He urged people check their bikes were working properly and wear a helmet
"What a lot of people don't know is helmets have an official used by date. So if you've got a helmet buried in the shed somewhere, it's probably worthwhile going down and getting yourself a new helmet," Mr Barber said.
Mr Barber said it's also important for people to keep their mobile phones on them during rides in case they come across some 'strife'.
"I recommend downloading a tracking app on your phone. You can use Strava or Gocycle. That way notifications get sent to your family members telling them where you are. They're especially good for younger or older people," he said.
At present, you can go for a bike ride by yourself, with one other person, or with people that you live with.
