Government restrictions say people should stay at home unless they have a 'reasonable excuse' and garden nurseries are currently considered an essential business.
Dun Lah Nursery owner Robyn Davis said she was thankful that nurseries were still able to operate amid the lockdowns.
"I've had a lot of enquiries and people are staring to realise that I'm out here," she said of her increased business lately.
"Gardening out in the fresh air in the sun is such a benefit ... you can still be in isolation in your own yard.
"It's good for your wellbeing."
Ms Davis is a qualified horticulturalist and garden designer and her nursery has been located 10 minutes out of town on the Old Dubbo Road since 2007.
This week she has received a new delivery of plants to keep up with the increased demand.
"We've got deciduous trees, liquid ambers, ornamental pears, grevilleas, ficus and crepe myrtle," Ms Davis said.
"We've also go cordylines in black night, red star and choc mint. You can use them as an indoor plant and pop them in a nice spot near the window."
Dun Lah Nursery is open by appointment only during government restrictions so that social distancing can be observed, they also do deliveries.
Old Ganarrin Garden Centre owner Rhonda Millar said many of her customers have been purchasing indoor plants because they are stuck at home due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Indoor plant life is not only visually comforting, but indoor plants actually clean the air.

"Indoor plant life is not only visually comforting, but indoor plants actually clean the air," she said.
"All plant life actually takes in carbon dioxide and exudes oxygen.
"They're also visually comforting with the beautiful greenery."
Ms Millar said people are also planting outside with native plants, shrubs, grass and trees very popular during the past month.
"Do a bit of exercise in your yard, get that beauty from your garden. That's one thing we can do without worrying about the restrictions," she said.
"It's a very simple thing to do and get enjoyment out of."
