Carr's Star Casey entered the race at $13.60, but managed to narrowly beat out the presumptive favourite, the $2.00 John Portelli-trained Karinya Socks.

A split of only 0.04 seconds seperates Star Casey from Karinya Socks' 23.60 finishing time, with a nearly non-existent margin seperating the two dogs as they battled to the end.
Len Haaring's Arrogant Bobby turned in a strong perormance to take a third place finish after leading early.
Carr's Kinloch Casey ran in second earlier in the event, finishing up behing Carl Moss' McVicker in the Col Hewitt Real Estate Dubbo Maiden during the second race of the night.
