A whopping 51.4 millimetres (mm) of rain in Dubbo on Thursday helped it achieve above-average monthly rainfall six days into March 2020.

At 9am on Friday Dubbo had received a total of 68.8mm, 8.8mm above the long-term average of 60mm for March.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) reports of 3.6mm falling in the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday followed by 13.8mm in the same period to 9am Thursday and 51.4mm in the same period to 9am Friday.

Dubbo was among multiple Western NSW communities which welcomed rain between Tuesday and Friday this week.
They included Bourke which received a total of 75mm of rain across the period, 49.2mm of it falling in the 24 hours to 9am Thursday.
Other communities which scored significant rain included Wilcannia with 69.8mm, Coonamble 63.8mm, Walgett 46mm, Wellington 74.4mm and Mudgee 85.6mm.
On Friday the BoM forecast a 30 per cent chance of up to 0.4mm falling on both Monday and Tuesday in Dubbo.
