The year six students presented a video enjoyed by the crowd at the Buninyong School as Community Centre (SACC) event at the Buninyong Public School hall.
The video began with the girls individually holding signs saying for example "equal rights", "equal opportunities" and "I can be the boss".

Local facilitator of Buninyong SACC, Lorna Brennan, said the event was "all about empowering women".
She praised the girls' efforts and encouraged the view "they shouldn't be thinking they are anything less because they are girls".
"We are powerful strong creatures in our own right and we should be recognised as such," Ms Brennan said.
The celebration also included a get-to-know-one-another game, Zumba session, address by Dubbo's 2019 sportsperson of the year Nicole Grose and nourishing food.
Ms Brennan said the event was run in conjunction with the Western NSW Local Health District, LiveBetter, Mission Australia, Uniting, Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre and Dubbo West SACC.
Mothers, grandmothers, the SACCs' playgroups and international students studying English as a second language at TAFE NSW-Dubbo were also in the crowd.
