The post office secured itself the Australian Post Office of the Year Gold Award at the Australia Post's annual Isaac awards.
The awards celebrate teams and individuals from across Australia Post for outstanding customer service and community spirit. They're named after the organisation's first postmaster, Isaac Nichols.
The Talbragar Street branch received the accolade in recognition of their support for Buy from the Bush and their affiliation with the Australian Red Cross' community defibrillator program. Thanks to the defibrillator and an off-duty doctor, the life of an elderly customer was saved recently.
Dubbo Post Office postal manager Virginia Brown, along with second in charge Louise Taylor, attended the ceremony where they were presented with a trophy.

The trophy now now resides at the post office as a reminder of the team's accomplishment.
Australia Post executive general manager community and consumer Nicole Sheffield said she was immensely proud of the team.
"The post office is a vital part of every community, especially in Dubbo, so it's wonderful to be able to acknowledge the team for everything that they do," Ms Sheffield said.
"Not only is the team dedicated to supporting their customers and the local Dubbo community as a whole, their professionalism and the way they live our values every day is something to be admired."
