Ms MacDonald said she couldn't wait for her exhibition to open and was currently working on perfecting the display.
"I love Dubbo, and Western Plains Cultural Centre has such a great gallery, I love this place," she said.
Ms MacDonald said her work was quite intimate, but it's good to be able to get it out to a bigger and wider audience.
"If anyone is to take anything away from my exhibition I hope it's to refuse old bowls they may come across in op shops or that have been passed down from family members," Ms MacDonald said.
"I hope they don't throw out these bowls- they're from the 70s- I hope they don't go to landfill."
Ms MacDonald said she was born into the world of craft.
"It was ingrained into me that I needed to exhibit and I needed to make art," she said.
"I love exhibiting my work because it gets it out there- you can't just work on it at home and not show it. My work wants to be out and proud."
Ms MacDonald encourages aspiring artists to put their work on display.
"Go to galleries and get yourself on the gallery lists. If you want to establish yourself as an artist you have to practice," she said.
"You also need to get yourself a day job. Art is a very difficult career to make money from.
"If you're only in it to make money it's probably not the career for you, but if it's in your blood you have to do it."
