The highway was closed in both directions between Goolma Road and the Golden Highway, however, flooding has eased and diversions have now been lifted.
Meanwhile, the Castlereagh Highway between the Golden and Newell highways remains closed in both directions due to ongoing flooding.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, use an alternate route and allow extra travel time to get to their destination.
The Warrumbungle Shire Council advises that a number of roads in this local government are closed due to flooding and to visit council's website for more information.
