The heritage building bought by Jillian Kilby from Telstra in 2018 underwent a restoration throughout 2019.
"Thank you to the community for attending our opening gala night," The Exchange community manager Minna Demetriou said.
"It was a fantastic night to celebrate community, collaboration, innovation and of course, the history and restoration of our beautiful old Clock Tower.
"We look forward to a big and bright future here on Macquarie Street."
The building is more than 130 years old, and is the city's former post office.
The Exchange has a number of events and learning lunches planned in the coming weeks.
Ms Kilby founded The Exchange as a social impact organisation, aimed at helping start-up businesses.
