The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) predicted a 50 per cent chance of rain for Dubbo on Sunday, but the quick changes in weather, flashing from sunny to stormy in mere seconds, still caught many residents off-guard.
Despite the flashes of lightning, thunder and rapid downpour, and the initial shock, most people happily welcomed the rain.
Mates, Brody Wallace, Levi Thurston and Claude Gordon were among the people to appreciate the rain, and enjoyed their afternoon splashing about in some of the major puddles.
According to the BoM, storms could continue into the start of the week, with a 70 per cent chance of rain for Monday and an 80 per cent chance of rain predicted for Tuesday.
