Dubbo has already produced top level talents in the sport in recent years, with the likes of Chloe Barrett, Emma Corcoran and Lili Campbell all having ties to the local association.
Dubbo Hockey Association's Julie Webber is optimistic that the invitational days will have the same strong turn-out that the sport has enjoyed in the past.

"They've been really successful, we've been getting over eights kids on the days we've held in the last two years," Webber said.
The first of the sessions will be held on Saturday, February 15 at Pioneer park and will involve a number of activities.
"We do some basic drills, and that's just teaching them the absolute basics, and then we'll have a little game with them with a modified rule set," Webber said.
"It's a good opportunity if they're wondering what it's about or haven't had much exposure to it, it's a really active sport for mobility, it's up there with football and AFL in terms of the amount of physical activity you do," Webber said.
Children interested in participating on the scheduled days on February 15, 22 and 29 and March 7 and 14 will not have to bring along any equipment and can try out the sport for free.
"We supply all the equipment, we want people to just come over, there'll be a meet and greet and they can have a bit of a muck-around with other kids and try it out, we can provide any information that people need," Webber said.
"It's really simple and it'll be really good for families that are interested."
Families have been a core part of the Dubbo Hockey playing base according to Webber, but the group is looking to expand in the coming year.
"This year, our competition are age and skill based, we're taking both things into account, that way we can include almost all kids, even children with disabilities we can cater to their needs as well."
The 'come and try' days will begin at 11am and run until 12.30pm.
