I'm not sure where that song came from, but it's one I remember singing as a child, and one that's been stuck in my head a few times this week.
How good is this rain!
I've had a few conversations this week about the colour of the sky, the dam levels, and the absence of the dust storms. Is anyone else's house looking a little cleaner this week without that extra layer of dust?
The grass has a green tinge to it (in those places there still is grass), and the dams are mostly looking a little fuller.
But of course we aren't out of the woods when it comes to water yet.
We're looking to the sky for follow up rain over the coming weeks in the hope of a little more relief because it's going to take a lot for things to get better.
But for now, it's a start.
On another topic, so you know what's happening behind the scenes at the Daily Liberal.
I am back from leave and have returned to the editor's role - just three days a week at the moment, but I'l build back to five days in the coming months. Craig Thomson has left, and Orlander Ruming remains in the acting deputy role until we appoint someone to that position.
