SafeWork NSW provided the advice as its team members and Lifeline representatives appeared as guest speakers at Dubbo Chamber of Commerce's first breakfast for 2020 on February 5.
The breakfast presented a valuable opportunity for SafeWork NSW to equip small and medium businesses with the skills and knowledge to effectively create a mentally healthy workplace, a SafeWork NSW spokeswoman said.
"We spend a large portion of our lives at work and this environment can have a considerable effect on our mental health," she said.
"Good job design, effective consultation, and connecting workers to early support are examples of ways to create a mentally healthy workplace. SafeWork has a range of free services for small and medium business to support mentally healthy workplaces in Dubbo and surrounding regions."
