Last year's finalists, Bathurst and Forbes, top the table after the opening round, with both clubs recording 4-1 wins, while Parkes' 3-2 win has the club sitting in third.
Mudgee, Cowra and Duntryleague fill the rest of the table after their losses, with the Dubbo side set to play its first game next weekend in Orange.
Forbes and Mudgee's wins over Duntryleague and Parkes respectively came in the brutal heat at Dubbo, while Bathurst's win over Cowra was in the slightly cooler grounds of Duntryleague.
Parkes ground out their win over Mudgee in the tightest of finishes in Dubbo, with Aaron Wilkie pushing Mark Hale all the way to the penultimate hole while Bradley Scott overcame Andrew Best on the final hole to put the sides 2-all.
Kris Stathopoulos and Kenneth Cobcroft took their decider all the way to the 23rd hole, with Cobcroft sealing the 3-2 win for his side in nail-biting circumstances.
Reining premiers Bathurst made short work of Cowra in Orange on Sunday as Stephen McDonald, Cameron Jackson, James Chapple and Reece Hodson all won reasonably comfortably, while Rodney McDonald snared Cowra's only point over Justin Sutton by the one hole.
David Corby was the only points scorer for Duntryleague as Forbes' Daniel Bayley, Peter Dawson and Steven and John Betland proved too strong, with last year's runners-ups claiming a 4-1 victory.
Competition resumes next week when Dubbo plays Forbes and Cowra comes up against Mudgee at the Orange Ex-Services Club, while Parkes and Bathurst play in Forbes.
Duntryleague has the bye.
