Prior to the Old Dubbo Goal's Prohibition at the Yard event a podcast, 'Prohibition', will launch, with the first episode set to air this Monday, February 3.
The podcast is hosted by Dubbo Regional Council media coordinator Annabelle Amos, who will be joined by Old Dubbo Gaol staff members, and history buffs, Josh Ronan and Chris Anemaat.
The Prohibition podcast will explore some of the stories related to the regulation of alcohol in Dubbo in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
"We've been quite fortunate to be able to produce a podcast explaining some of the effects alcohol, its banning, its uses around town and also how it affected the gaol," Mr Ronan said.

"While there wasn't a total alcohol ban in NSW during the 20th-century prohibition of alcohol, not many people know there was a successful movement to ban the sale of alcohol after a certain time of the day.
"This is known as the Temperance Movement, where lobby groups put enough pressure on the government to ban the sale of alcohol in pubs after 6 pm.

"While we didn't experience the full-banning of alcohol in NSW we did experience a lot of laws changing around when it was allowed to be served, how it was affecting families, even during the world wars at the time so it had a great influence on our history as a nation, and even in town here in Dubbo."
According to Mr Ronan, Dubbo was one of the places to have the 6pm curfew.
"It will be interesting being able to research how it affected the gaol and how it affected us as a town," he said.
The podcast will also examine some of the crimes committed by prisoners in the Old Dubbo Gaol.
One prisoner the podcast will touch on is Peter Lee who was arrested for selling sly-grog at Kenny's Camp just outside of Dubbo.
The podcast will be accessible through the Dubbo Regional Council website or through podcast apps.
