Council usually doesn't hold meetings in January. Both the committee meetings and council meeting are suspended for the month.
However, an extraordinary meeting has been scheduled for 5.30pm on Tuesday.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
It includes the expansion of the neighbourhood shopping precinct CCTV program. The program encourages businesses to install their own security cameras to reduce anti-social behaviour.
Those who take part receive $500 from council to help with the costs of the cameras.
Mayor Ben Shields is also calling for the federal government to provide free postage to regional retailers.
Council offered free postage to participating businesses in November and December to encourage more people to spend in Dubbo and Wellington. Now, Cr Shields wants the government to come on board to help the retailers through the ongoing drought.
