A 70-year-old man will face court in March charged over a fatal crash near Wellington last month.

On December 31, just before 9pm, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway in Maryvale, north of Wellington, following reports of a crash between a motorcycle and utility vehicle.
The rider of the motorcycle, believed to be a man aged in his 20s, died at the scene.
The male driver of the utility, and a female passenger, sustained a number of injuries and were airlifted to Orange Base Hospital.

Following inquiries, a 70-year-old man attended Orange Police Station on Sunday, January 26 2020, where he was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous driving occasioning death
- Negligent driving occasioning death
- Cause bodily harm through misconduct
The 70-year-old man was granted conditional bail and will appear at Wellington Local Court on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
