Lorraine Callaghan was "honoured" to receive the Senior Citizen of the Year award at Victoria Park during the Australia Day ceremony 2020.

Ms Callaghan was selected for the award due to her immeasurable and outstanding contribution to the Dubbo community.
Ms Callaghan is the president of the Royal Far West Wagon Wheel Dubbo Branch and has been since having been appointed in 2000.
The club provides access to healthcare services for regional and remote children and Ms Callaghan has kept busy coordinating various fundraising market stalls, raffles and barbeques with the proceeds going to Royal Far West.
Ms Callaghan has been involved with Royal Far West Wagon Wheel Dubbo Branch for over 40 years and has been club president for 19.
She was inspired to become a member to follow in her mother's footsteps, as she too had been a member of the club.

"I started volunteering at the club over forty years ago when my mother had asked me to help bake cakes for street stores and to help out with other activities," Ms Callaghan said.
Ms Callaghan bakes cakes and other goods and sews numerous items to sell at the various market stalls and for an array of fundraising raffles.
Ms Callaghan coordinates a mother and father day raffle, and a Christmas raffle every year, and twice a month, Ms Callaghan coordinates the meat tray raffles at the Ploughman Rest Hotel at Wongarbon, with all the proceeds again going to the Royal Far West.
She also coordinates and cooks for 40 to 60 people for the famous Far West Luncheon, which is held approximately six times every year at the Masonic Hall.
Ms Callaghan volunteers at the Art and Craft Cottage every month and teaches ladies at her home to sew and knit.
Ms Callaghan gave thanks to the fellow members of the Royal Far West Wagon Wheel Dubbo Branch , as well as to the Dubbo Regional Council, friends, family members and to the members of the community.
"It is here that I got to see first hand the health and education benefits from this amazing organisation," Ms Callaghan said.
