Dubbo Regional Council mayor Ben Shields will be hosting weekly Meet the Mayor events at Made In Wello every Wednesday. If you would like to ask him or discuss something with him why not come on down to the shop this week from 9am and 11am. The Made in Wello shop is located at 9 Nanima Crescent.
The Potbellez:
Dubbo, January 30
One of Australia's most successful electronic dance acts will perform live at the Dubbo RSL Club this week. The Potbelleez have sold are known for some of the biggest dance tracks over the past few years including Hello, Are You With Me, Saved In A Bottle and the triple platinum, top 5 single, Don't Hold Back. Picnic Races:
Geurie, February 1
Get your backside trackside to Geurie this weekend when the town hosts the annual Geurie Picnic Races. This fun, family event will be held at the local Racecourse, on Comobella Road. Gates open from 12pm.
Cars and Coffee:
Dubbo, February 2
This casual bi-monthly get together is aimed at local car enthusiasts and owners of special interest cars, to meet up, at a fun, family friendly event all while raising money for a good cause. The event takes place on the first Sunday of every month at Victoria Park from 8am to 12pm. Entry is a gold coin donation with money raised donated to the Make a Wish Foundation. Classic and custom bikes are also welcome.
Community connect:
Warren, January 31
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) are heading to Warren to support drought affected farmers by donating tons of livestock pellets, and offering a well-deserved day out for farmers to enjoy. Farmers Community Connect brings together rural support and farming families in one location. There will be a donation of a one ton bulker bag of livestock pellets to farmers, a free barbecue lunch and barista coffee, and access to local support groups such as mental health services, rural financial counselling and veterinary services. The event will run from 8am until 2pm.
Inland Growth Summit:
Dubbo, January 30
Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana will host its Inland water summit at Taronga Western Plains Zoo on Thursday, January 30. The summit will examine the future of our water and the impact water has on inland Australia. This year's theme revolves around the opportunities and innovations occurring in terms of water management, reuse innovation and change management. Former NSW Senator and current RDA Charles Sturt University Strategic Advisor Fiona Nash will MC the event. Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com.au
