The AVO against Taymon James Hicks was put in place in May 2019, court documents reveal.
On May 25, Hicks rang the woman and asked if he could go to her home. She told him he couldn't but he went to the Dandaloo Street property and demanded the door be opened.
The woman told Hicks he was not allowed to be there and refused to let him in.
Hicks started banging on the window then walked around the back of the house, got a chair and used it to climb through a window to get into the home.
According to court documents, the woman ran into another room with her phone and said she would ring the police.

Hicks grabbed the phone out of the woman's hand and used his head to smash a hole in the wall.
The woman screamed out for help and Hicks put his hand around her mouth to muffle her voice.
Hicks pushed the woman, applied force to her mouth and caused her to fall backwards onto the floor.
As the woman sat in tears, Hicks went to the kitchen, slammed his hands down on the stove top and bent a metal ring around the outside of the cooking element.
"Ring the police, I don't care if you ring the police," Hicks told the distraught woman.
Before he ran away from the scene, Hicks told the woman he planned to die by suicide and leave note that would indicate his death was "all the fault" of the woman.
The woman rang triple zero and police were unsuccessful in their attempts to locate Hicks.
More than a week after the domestic violence attack, Hicks handed himself in to Narromine police.
In court he pleaded guilty to common assault, property damage and AVO breach offences.
Magistrate Gary Wilson convicted Hicks in Dubbo Local Court on Friday and sentenced him to 18 months in jail with a non-parole period of 13 months.
Hicks will be eligible for release on August 31.
