A Dubbo woman who stole a man's mobile phone and was found with four phones in her car has pleaded guilty to a stealing charge in court.
Kimberly Hope Ah-See contacted the man after he used the Dubbo Buy Swap and Sell Facebook group to advise he had a Samsung Galaxy for sale.
Court documents reveal the man wanted $800 for the phone and Ah-See messaged him on Facebook to discuss the product.
The man gave Ah-See his address and she went to the Yulong Street property to inspect the phone in August 2019.
Police said Ah-See called the man from a private number and advised she was out the front of his house.
The man walked out the front and handed Ah-See the phone. He watched her pull the SIM Card out of her phone and place it in the one he wanted to sell, to ensure it worked.
Ah-See then drove off without paying the phone.
Police caught her on Macquarie Street and searched her car. Four mobile phones were located in the car and seized.
In Dubbo Local Court on January 24 magistrate Gary Wilson convicted Ah-See and placed her on a community corrections order for 18 months.
She is required to be of good behaviour and pay the victim $800.
