Dubbo Hospital's Kaye Simpson reckons dust storms are a walk in the park compared to the long journey to recovery facing victims of NSW bushfires.

Experienced at fundraising, she has joined forces with friend and fellow registered nurse Mayrah Jarry in trying to make the journey easier for people in trauma.
They've organised a sweet and savoury bake sale on February 14 in the hospital's front foyer with its staff promising to donate an array of treats from quiche and lasagna to cupcakes, muffins and rocky road.

Visitors to the hospital will also be able to buy the baked goods.
The winner of a raffle already under way will receive an $80 voucher from Colleen's Cake Creations. Zhensoftaste is providing a $50 cake voucher for both second and third prize winners.
Money raised will be shared between the NSW Rural Fire Service, Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery, and NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service.
The bake sale organisers believe the plight of bushfire victims will generate generosity among Dubbo residents currently dealing with dust storms.
"Give me the dust any day over what those poor people went through," Ms Simpson said.
"You can clean the dust away but it takes a long time to rebuild a house and get over the memories and trauma."
Ms Jarry calls the bushfires "horrible".
"We are very lucky..that it's not happening here," she said.
"We have to help each other to get through this."
The bake sale will begin at 8am and run "until sold out".
