The girls' under 13s decider was played at Wellington on Tuesday afternoon and the Metro Sixers proved too strong for the Country Thunder.
It was a sweet result after the Thunder side had got the better of the Metro Sixers when the two sides met in Monday morning's opening round.
With each of the four teams involved in the State Challenge playing three Twenty20 matches, the Metro Sixers got better as the tournament went and finished as champions after the tight decider win.
The Country Thunder side, featuring Western Zone products Callee Black and Maddi Spence, went into the decider at Pioneer Oval undefeated but never got going in the match.
Wellington's Black was one of three players to be dismissed for a duck while Spence could only manage 1 as Country Thunder was restricted to 4/89 from its 20 overs.
The Metro Sixers seemed to be cruising in reply at 2/53 and with Taara Kotibhaskar controlling the chase.

But the Thunder outfit lifted and Kotibhaskar was part of a 5/20 collapse that left the game in the balance.
The Metro Sixers still got the job done though, winning by three wickets with 11 balls to spare.
Keisha Baldwin and Annalee Watson took two wickets each for the beaten Thunder side.
In the boys' under 13s fixtures, the Country Thunder South West side ensured it remained unbeaten after scoring back-to-back Twenty20 wins on Tuesday.
Tuesday saw all sides play two Twenty20 matches and the hosts won both, with a number of Dubbo juniors contributing.
After a hard-fought win in Monday's 40-over game, Tuesday started with a 40-run win over the Country Sixers Northern NSW outfit.
Declan Hurcum, who received high praise for his bowling on day one, delivered with the bat in the win.
He hit 34 from 21 balls in the total of 6/140.
Country Sixers Northern NSW was restricted to 5/100 in reply.
Shaun Smith had a fine all-round game for victors, making a run-a-ball 31 before taking 1/10 from four overs.
The results mean the Greg Rummans-coached outfit is now in prime position to qualify for Thursday's final.
Before that, the Country Thunder South West side must tackle Country Sixers Greater Hunter on Wednesday.
The Greater Hunter outfit has lost just once after three games, with its highlight on Tuesday being a close nine-run win over Country Thunder South East.
Two sides remain unbeaten after two days of play in the State Challenge under 14s competition.
Metro Thunder Outer West, Country Thunder South East, and Country Sixers NSW Northern NSW all backed up Monday's wins with strong showings on Tuesday.
The Country Sixers NSW Northern NSW side knocked over the hosts, Country Thunder South West, with relative ease at No. 2 Oval.
Batting wasn't easy early on Tuesday and Country Thunder South West struggled to build partnerships, as captain Gus Cornish's patient 18 proved to be the top score in the total of 106.
The Northern NSW team went on to win by six wickets with five overs to spare.
There was some slight concern at 4/44 during the chase but Sam Weir's 46 not out ensured a second successive win.
Both the Metro Thunder Outer West and Country Thunder South East scored commanding wins on Tuesday.
The Outer West side thumped Metro Sixers South East by eight wickets on the back of Will Adlam's 59 while the Country Thunder South East cruised past Country Sixers Greater Hunter.
Jake Smith was the hero in the South East win, taking 5/17 as Greater Hunter was knocked over for just 87.
South East went on to score a seven-wicket victory as the target was reached with more than nine overs to spare.
The under 14s play Twenty20 matches on Wednesday.
