Dubbo's Marcus Hanney said the motivation behind his journey to lose weight was the birth of his firstborn child, a baby girl named Addison.

Mr Hanney took part in Dubbo mayor Ben Shields' eight-week weight-loss campaign, 'Downsizing Dubbo', which encouraged members of the community to join SuperFastDiet.
Over the eight-weeks Mr Hanney lost a total of 13 kilograms and has since lost another two-plus, making his overall total a loss of more than 15 kilograms.
"I knew I needed to lose weight," Mr Hanney said.
"My motivation was my daughter, Addison, who was born in July of last year. I'm an older dad and I wanted to be around for her.
"I wanted to feel healthy."
Mr Hanney said his family was proud of him and have been supportive. "They're encouraging. When I have a bad day, I might be going off track, and they will say, come on, don't eat that you're doing so well."
Mr Hanney said he found the SuperFastDiet easy and sustainable, although he didn't find success instantaneously.
"I didn't expect to lose so much weight," he said.
"For anyone who may be thinking about trying it, I'd say 'give it a go, and don't be discouraged if you don't see results instantly'. It wasn't instant for me, I didn't see results straight away.
"We're creatures of habit and you have to retrain yourself. You have to find what works best for you.
"For me, the process was easy, I just did all the right things, eating in moderation. You don't have to give up everything. You're just not eating junk food every day, but I'm no saint, I still treat myself.
"You still get to live. You're just eating more sensibly. I even had a break over Christmas and although I didn't lose any more weight, I didn't put any back on either."
Mr Hanney said since losing the weight he felt better in himself and had more energy.
"I'm ready to kick off again for 2020," he said.
"I don't have a goal weight I'd like to get to, but I do have a 90s, two-toned satin shirt that I'd like to fit back into, and look decent in.
"I got it when I was 20 or 21-years-old. At the moment I can just fit into it a button it up."
Late last year Mr Hanney was flown to Sydney with Dubbo resident Annette Webber, after the pair were named among those who lost the most amount of weight, where they appeared on the Today Show Australia.
"I didn't expect to be flown to Sydney and appear on tv live, and my daughter was able to air on live television too," he said of his experience.
"It felt good."
