On Tuesday Dubbo Regional Council's manager water supply and sewerage Stephen Carter asked residents of Dubbo, Wellington and Geurie to reduce water consumption because of "increased treatment process times" and advised them to expect "low water pressure for some days".

"Water is meeting the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines although the treatment process is slower to ensure water quality continues to be met," Mr Carter said.
Except for cricket pitches, the council will not water parks in Dubbo, Wellington and Geurie while the river turbidity persists.
In the week ending Sunday, Dubbo residents used 296 litres(L) per person per day, 16L above the level four water restrictions target of 280L.
Wellington and Geurie residents used 246L and 230L, respectively, in the same period.
