Staff at the Centre celebrated National Corrections Day on Friday, where family members were able to undertake a tour of the facility.
They viewed a contraband display, were given a demonstration from SOG and K9 unit, as well as a transport vehicle. This year's theme of 'We are family' was supported by Chris and Rebecca Quinn who baked over 150 cupcakes.
Acting Governor of Wellington Correctional Centre Louise Smith said it was exciting to see uniformed and non-uniformed staff involved in the celebration of National Corrections Day.
Staff at Wellington enjoyed an early bacon, sausage and egg breakfast to celebrate National Corrections Day at Wellington Correctional Centre.
Following the tour, staff and families joined in a barbecue arts and crafts, face painting, a jumping castle, fairy floss machine, and refreshments from the local Barnardos Coffee van.
