With work on the new Dubbo Regional Cycling Facility near the CSU campus close to completion, the old one around No. 1 Oval will be removed.
Existing turf will be used at the new track as the latest phase of the Victoria Park Redevelopment Masterplan, funded by a NSW Government Strong Communities Fund grant.
The work means the car park and ground will be out of action during the coming months.
It will impact on much of the second half of the Dubbo District Cricket Association season, with finals set to be staged away from the premier ground.
The final fixture of the RSL-Whitney Cup season to be played at No. 1 Oval before the upgrade will be the February 1 clash between Newtown and Macquarie.

The Dubbo Kangaroos rugby side is also set to be impacted, as the ground may not be ready before the opening round of the Blowes Clothing Cup season.
Those clubs will return to an improved facility, one that further boosts the city's ability and capacity to stage high-profile events.
"Our region has a growing reputation for staging significant sporting fixtures and carnivals," Mayor of the Dubbo Region Councillor Ben Shields said.
"The Victoria Number 1 Oval field will now be to international standards which will further boost our credentials in securing national sporting fixtures."
Sealed areas surrounding the oval will not be available for parking during the coming months so to enable construction vehicle unobstructed access.
Alternative parking may be available in the Victoria Park No 2 and No 3 oval surrounds.
