I subscribed to the Theatre Season just then. The definition of a 'Subscription' is an advance payment made to receive or participate in something. It is a pledge. In return the person subscribing is rewarded for their commitment of purchasing a minimum of five shows from the 2020 Season booklet by 24 January. I practice what I preach.

Subscribing to a Theatre Season is open to everyone and anyone. There are so many benefits by being a Subscriber. For starters, discounted tickets on all season shows in the booklet, discounts on most other touring shows, a complimentary ticket to the Season Launch, the ability to exchange tickets if you can't make it to a show and preferred seating allocation if you get in quick. You will also receive a nifty Subscriber card to receive discounts with our hospitality partners.
Some people prefer not to subscribe and this can be for financial reasons, work and holiday schedules, 'decide-on-the-day' consumer behaviour or just don't want to go on their own - that's where the Friends and Buddies Club comes into it. A free club - (I know right - that in itself is something to celebrate). Let us know when buying your tickets and we seat you with other solo peeps - it's a win-win for everyone.
So what are my five faves and why? Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow because at least four of the five comedians are hilarious. Mamma Mia! because it features a large local cast and I like to buy local. Robot Song because it is based on a true story about a child on the Autism Spectrum and is beautifully written. Club Soda as I'm a fan of vaudevillian cabaret and Big Bands and my table of 8 is morphing into a cool FAB Club table. Plus I want to enrol in the Swing dance lessons leading up to the show - I just need to convince Scott to join me. LAMB because it is a play based on a true story and resonates with our community of living on the land, drought and generational expectations. I will go to others, but these five will get me through the door as a Subscriber.
If you are putting off venturing out in the heat, smoke and dust you have a number of options - give the Box Office a call on 6801 4378, email us on info@drtcc.com.au or pop in - there's ample parking out the front, the foyer is a comfortably cool 21 degrees and we have filtered drinking water for you. Join us and let's celebrate and subscribe in 2020 - the closing date is 24 January!
