The Macquarie Regional Library, Dubbo Branch, held a book launch on Tuesday where both Mrs Newton and Miss Webb were in attendance.
Mrs Newton was inspired to write the children's book after she had driven her granddaughter, Ivie Lalicz, back with her to Dubbo from her house on the Central Coast of NSW.
"We were five minutes into the trip and Ivie kept asking me; are we there yet grandma?," Mrs Newton said.
"I told her to look out of her window and tell me what she saw, and the stories that kept coming out of her mouth were just amazing.
"I thought to myself; I can write a book on this.
"It was a bit of 'a-ha' moment.
"I got home and I said to my husband; can you mind Ivie, I have to write all of this down, and so I did."
Mrs Newton's granddaughter, Ivy, said she loves the book and she's "very proud" of her grandmother.
Mrs Newton said she went to one of the teachers at Dubbo College Senior Campus, Ms Wilson, and asked if she knew if any of her students could do any illustrations.
"She (Ms Wilson) showed me some of Jailyns illustrations and I just really liked them," she said.
Miss Webb, who was in grade 12 at Dubbo College Senior Campus at the time, said illustrating was something she enjoyed, and that she aspires to do after school.
"Drawing them was a nice break in between homework," Miss Webb said.
"I'm excited to see the final product and I feel pretty proud.
"I'm happy with how it turned out."

Mrs Newton has another children's book set to come out, "hopefully", in July of 2021.
That book will be about her grandson, Ivie's big brother.
'Are We There Grandma' is currently available for purchase from the Book Connection in Dubbo, and the Dubbo Grove Post Office.
"It's truly been wonderful, the publicity that people have put out for me, especially at the libraries in Wellington, Narromine and here in Dubbo, has been just outstanding, and the kids have been wonderful, and the books have just been selling off the shelves," Mrs Newton said.
