Dubbo Regional Council is being tight-lipped about where tampering of its irrigation systems has taken place, apart from the latest incident at "Kintyre Park".

A spokesman has ignored a request from the Daily Liberal to identify where "several incidents" of tampering occurred in the lead-up to Christmas, as stated in a media release issued by the council on December 24.
In the release the council called on residents to report unauthorised water at public reserves.

It also advised that "unless our irrigation maintenance testing signs are erected and there is a council vehicle present with lights flashing, sprinklers in use during the day is either due to equipment malfunction or tampering".
The council spokesman said a report to the council halted the unapproved watering at Kintyre Park.
"Whatever the motivation to turn on irrigation systems without authorisation, it is a deliberate act to waste water," he said.
"Council promptly responds to any reports of vandalism or tampering with Council infrastructure and assets, whether during the current drought or at any other time."
