The 'Kookaburra' children from Stepping Stones Early Learning Centre, North Dubbo, donated $600 to the Salvation Army Bushfire Disaster Appeal after they brainstormed ways they could help the victims.
The appeal offers a range of assistance to help people impacted by the bushfires.
Stepping Stones Educator Naomi Peters said the children had been discussing the devastating fires and ways they could help when they came up with the idea to bake, decorate and sell treats to accumulate donations.
"When the children came up with the idea, we wholeheartedly supported the initiative," Ms Peters said.
Salvation Army Orana captain David Sutcliffe made a special appearance at the centre during the recent graduation celebrations to personally accept a presentation cheque made and signed by the proud Dubbo youngsters.
