Orange received two millimetres of rain on Sunday evening, while the Bureau of Meteorology (the BoM) recorded 1mm of rainfall in Young on Monday morning.
While the BoM showed no other locations received rain overnight, firefighters battling the massive 168,188 hectare Kerry Ridge bushfire reported some rain across the fireground.
Meteorologists have predicted 10-15mm of rain could fall across the region on Monday and Tuesday.
Lithgow, Mudgee and Parkes could see up to 15mm during the two days, while 10mm could fall in Bathurst, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Orange and Young.
While the rains may fall during the next two days, hot weather is predicted to continue with the mercury set to soar to as high as 40 degrees in some locations.
