AS firefighters continue to battle massive out-of-control bushfires across NSW another statewide total fire ban has been declared.

Early on Saturday evening there were 163 fires burning across the state, with 12 of them at emergency alert level.
While most of the emergency fires are located in the south-eastern corner of NSW, the Green Wattle blaze which stretches from Jenolan and areas near Duckmaloi, through the Kanangra-Boyd National Park and then south-east to the Wombeyan Caves and Bargo is also at emergency level.
The seven-day state of emergency that commenced on Friday continues which gives additional resources to the NSW Rural Fire Service to battle the blazes.
On Sunday there is a very high fire danger risk in the following council areas: Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cootamundra-Gundagai, Cowra, Hilltops, Lithgow, Mid-Western, Oberon and Orange.
In Dubbo, Forbes and Parkes the fire danger rating is high.

The total fire ban runs until 11.59pm on Sunday, January 5
During a total fire ban, no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.

This includes incinerators and barbecues which burn solid fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads.
No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open.
