NSW Police have confirmed one instance of looting in a bushfire-affected area, and have warned the behaviour won't be tolerated.

"Any reports of these criminal acts will be thoroughly investigated," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
"This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated by police or the wider community, and we will take immediate action to bring these people before the courts."
Police did not provide further details of the incident but encouraged people to remain vigilant.
"If you see a crime being committed, call Triple Zero immediately," the spokesperson said.
