"We had 2,550 through the gate," organising committee secretary Emma Flinn said.
"It was up on last year which is great."
Ms Flinn praised community groups and Trangie residents for supporting the event, which always leads to a welcome jump in sales at local businesses and attracts racegoers from all across Australia.
"We do this so we can pump money back into Trangie," Ms Flinn said.
"It wouldn't happen without all the community groups who pitch in to help us out.
"Everyone is doing it tough [because of the drought] so we also can't thank our sponsors enough."
About 35 people are on the committee which organises the event each year.
"It's a huge task to put it on and they're all volunteers," Ms Flinn told Australian Community Media.
