The Nyngan Tigers proved themselves one of the strongest teams in the competition last year and club president Glen Neill is confident the same will be true once the silly season has settled down.

"It's all looking pretty good, we'll be fairly competitive again, or that's what we believe," Neill said.
The Tigers, who finished third behind minor premiers Dubbo CYMS and premiership winners the Wellington Cowboys, experienced some mid-season growing pains last year as injury and fatigue set in, but were able to secure a strong run home that saw them handily defeat both of the sides that would eventually feature in the Grand Final.

Much of that success was put down to one of the competition's leading halfbacks, Josh Merritt, who rejoined the side mid-way through the year after a stint in group 10.
Merritt, who played for the Macquarie Raiders before that, was briefly linked to Dubbo CYMS in this off-season, but has re-upped with the Tigers, alongside brother Jai, for 2020.
But the Merrits won't be the only familiar faces meeting at the Nyngan training ground this year, with former Macquarie Raider and Western Rams representative Jeremy Smith also joining the side.
"It's definitely pretty good for us, him and Josh have played a bit of footy before together so that's always good," Neill said.
While the team will also be retaining much of it's firepower form last season, with Ash Widders, Jacob Neill, Justin Carney, Hammond Erepan, Luke and Nate Matheson, Loma Atuau, Sam and Ray Simmons and Clinton Edwards all expected to return, the biggest question remains the addition of the Warner brothers from Tumut.
The group nine premiership winning trio have all arrived in town and begun the process of getting situated and Neill's confident that once training begins, they'll see positive things.
"Our Warner brothers have got into town, they moved here and started working yesterday, so they're in and settled."
Tom Warner will be replacing Justin Carney in the head coach and Captain roles, but Carney is still expected to play a big role in the Tigers going forward, remaining committed to playing, mentoring the junior sides and taking up a new role on the committee.
"I think Justin will always be there in the background, he just wanted to step back a bit, he's keen to be involved with the juniors, he'll be around and obviously he'll be having some input in a lot of areas."
While the club hasn't started ramping up to the 2020 season quite yet, the slate of additions and confirmed returning faces on the playing roster puts Nyngan in a strong position for success before the first whistle is even blown.
"It's early days still, we're a long way off starting and there's a long way to go, but the other thing is that the competition as a whole is getting stronger every year, we go up a notch and everyone else goes up a notch and it's fantastic for group 11 as a whole."
