The Gerard Yeo Memorial Pace, normally held in November, will now take the feature spot at the Harness Racing club's boxing day meeting after last year's boxing night races brought together the Yeo clan for their annual reunion.
The event is of particular significance to Dubbo and the harness racing community that have made the Dubbo showground their home, giving everyone a chance to honour lives that were tragically cut short, according to Dubbo's Harness Racing Club president Len Edwards.

"For a few years, we just had a special meeting set aside for the Gerard Yeo memorial, but of course, when they came together last time for the boxing night, they decided to make that their reunion night and we chose to move it to there this year," Edwards said.
"I think one of the first times we had them all around it, it was incredible, we had people coming from Western Australia and all sorts of places and that was great to have all those members of the Yeo family come along, and that's what it is and what it's about."
Yeo's name is etched in memoriam into many of Dubbo's sporting trophies and achievements as a tribute to the man and his incredible achievements, but the club will also be taking the time to honour a long standing club member as well.
The Colleen O'Neill Memorial will also be one of the six race slate expected to take place on Thursday evening, honouring one of the club's strongest supporters and closest friends.
"Colleen's a lady who has always been associated with Dubbo Harness Club and she was associated with us nearly all her life, she trained horses and worked horses and owned horses and there's actually a horse running round now from up near Kite River that was one of hers and I believe it's in this race," Edwards said.
"She was a great lady, she helped the club out quite a lot, so we'll have a rug in her name as well."
