"It has been a year full of achievement for the Central West Leadership Academy," Ms Randell said.
The school's Stage three Debate Team won the NGS Super Virtual Debating Competition run by the Association of Independent Schools on December 6.
The Academy team, undefeated, ended the 2019 season as National Debate Champions.
The team, made up of Stella Maroulis, Finn Randell, Noah Randell and Jake Spinks, was new to debating, having never debated before.
They had a weekly after school training sessions throughout the year with their coach Mr Christian Dayment.
"It is a tremendous accomplishment for a novice team. What a great thing for Dubbo to have a national championship team, for the country to see educational excellence is thriving in a regional town."
