Retiring director of nursing Jenny Johnson tells of the annual tussle for a wooden trophy shaped like a Christmas tree, created by the Dubbo Community Men's Shed.
"They put a lot of effort into it," she said of entrants which numbered 12 in 2019.

On Wednesday Mrs Johnson handed bragging rights for the next 12 months to the surgical inpatient unit team amid playful groans and loud cheers in the hospital's staff cafeteria.
The theme of "classy David Jones" impressed three independent judges and produced the first win for the unit in 10 years.
Highly-commended awards went to Dubbo Community Health where handmade decorations got the judges' attention, and the hospital's Emergency Department which worked its magic after adopting a Harry Potter theme.
Mrs Johnson said decorations lifted the spirits of children and adults in the hospital.
